  • It depends on what mood I am in. Usually I am in a good mood and try to kill them with kindness. I may compliment them on their clothing, hair, jewelry, and etc. If I am in a bad mood, I will call them out. I might say, "Why are you being so rude?", or "Are we having a bad day?"
  • I just start talking and asking if everything is OK - and then they begin to mellow out - I've worked it puplic forever so I kinda know how to react
  • If I really have to be there and get business done, I ask to or go to someone else and ignore the rude person. if there is nobody else there, I call or come back later, or try to be civil with them and get the job done anyhow. I dislike rude people, and I also have been rude myself over time. For all I know they just got divorce papers or have a parent or child dying. I try to ignore it and just get done what needs to be done.
  • I try to control my temper and ask for someone else to talk to. If I think I can find the item I was looking for anywhere else, I have said on more than one occasion: "Congratulations on losing yet another customer" and walk away.
