  • find some nice music and put it on... gently close the door and just let him yell... eventually he'll stop crying
  • Children are very good at figuring out who's a soft touch and trying to 'play' people. If they think you're even a bit uneasy and unsure of them, then they play on you and will try to get out of nap time. Your friend's baby would probably much rather stay up and cause some more havoc for a few hours! The best thing to do, from my experience, is to calmly and firmly place the baby in the cot and let him cry and throw a tantrum, then try to stick to his regular schedule for the rest of your time looking after him. Eventually they stop crying and fall asleep, and even if you do feel mean, you'll feel worse later if you let him stay up and get over tired!
  • I would say first of all, to get off the computer and go comfort that little one. His schedule is off and he is upset!!
  • Hes just tied and cranky put him down and comfort him maybe some warm skim milk
  • You could take him for a drive, rock him or put on a children's tv show/video that he really likes and let him fall asleep watching it.
  • if it was up to me set a alarm to go off a little before nap time and get him ready this way you dont lose track of time and he gets a nap on schedule
