  • None whatsoever. . I only note that if the United States were to achieve the level of training, indoctrination, encouragement and loyalty to the country that the LDS Church does with its members it would be called patriotism and be considered laudable. . And that if there is a conspiricy where the goal of the Church is to take control of the country and of the world, it has been, to date, either a very unsuccessful or a very subtle conspiracy. The members of the Church do not feel "controlled" by it. The neighbors of church members do not feel threatened by it. And scrutiny of behavior and actions of church members in positions of public trust suggests that their duties and responsibilities are generally carried out in a competent and ethical manner consistent with the highest ideals of the nation.
  • I guess you have to sort of consider the term "based on results". Kind of like the zeitgeist thing- seeing it after it passes. If there was any solid proof, or people who could testify to something- they would be killed. And then people say Bulls it. Those same people (or some of them anyway) swear up and down that Oswald killed Kennedy and anyone who says different is a "nut case". I mean, where's the proof, right???. Let's have some facts showing it was anyone else!!!!. All a bunch of trouble makers and malcontents- telling the people our own government was involved!!! Why don' they go away quietly into the night and leave all the rational people alone??? Right??? Well, there were people who were going to testify in front of congress about that mess. One of them (I believe) was found floating in a 55 gallon drum, dead as a doorknob. OOpppsss!!! There went that proof.!!!
  • The fact that there is little supporting evidence to either stance might make some people nervous. But vanilla ice cream makes some people nervous and I don't think ice cream has evil intentions. I think conspiracy theories are interesting, but until something can be proven, they are just theories, which may or may not hold any truth.
  • In a simple way sending Missionaries out to every nation to teach ALL about Christ and invite ALL to come unto Christ and be Baptised into His church, they are trying to take over the world. Ask any Mormon they will all agree to this. I like the video, the guy calling in should have thought a little more about what he wanted to say before going on air.
  • Of course there is no verifiable evidence on either side. Those that put forward the conspiracy theories hide behind the typical tactics of conspiracy theorists. The witnesses are too afraid to testify in public because they are afraid that the [fill in the blank] will kill them. The [fill in the blank] have made sure to cover their tracks so that there is no evidence, but I know a guy who swears that this is what happened. They have no evidence to back up their claims, but that does not stop them from making them because they have to protect the world from the conspiracy that they can't provide the evidence to support. On the other hand, the organization against which such accusations are made really can't provide evidence to disprove the conspiracy because you can't prove a negative. There are very few people who can provide complete documentation of everything that they have every said and/or done. It is in these gaps that the conspiracy theorist can squeeze in the nefarious activities and there is no way to prove that they did not happen. We can state time and time again that there is no plot to take over the world, but those that believe in the conspiracies will just keep insisting that we are not being honest about our intentions. It does not matter how much documentation we produce to show what we do do, those that believe this will just say that we are hiding the true records of what we are doing. So, no there is no way to prove the theories are incorrect. The only real thing that we can point to discredit them is their own inability to produce the evidence to support them.
  • Maybe I am naive. I have never been much for conspiracy theories. Global warming, yeah right. Crop Circles. Really haven't heard much about them lately. No actually going to the moon. Chupracobra Big Foot JFK's death UFOs Nessy Book Of Mormon I have just never been into a false reality or scare tactics. I realize this does not answer the question. But, so many people are so quick to jump on the conspiracy band wagon... I just had to chime in.
