This question will never work. People withbig egos will give themselves a low number, while people with smaller egos will give them higher numbers. ...I'd say mine is about a 6.

My ego is about an 8. But sometime it goes up or down. Depending on what's going on!

This is much harder to answer than I thought. On a scale of 1-10 the more healthy alternative to a big ego, self confidence, I would say somewhere around 8. As for ego. . .probably 6.

Every day life probably 6 or 7. But in basketball it's a 10.

I could go on and on about this topic! But will I? Hmm.... Generally, I'm pretty arrogant and egotistical... it seems I'm just sort of wired up that way. The area where I could go on and on about this is in the question: "what do to about that?". People take sides about ego: "it's a bad thing, you shouldn't be egotistical" ... or "it's a good thing, that's self-confidence". So we look for things to boost our ego -- which can quickly turn into self-centered obsession, or we try to suppress it and come up with some mutant form of "oh humble me" which is inauthentic and perhaps just icky. I think there are a few things which gets missed in these common-sense viewpoints about ego: - Ego is an essential element of being human. There is no getting rid of having concepts and images about yourself, and particularly the temptation to get addicted to self-centered thinking and preoccupations. This just comes with being human. - The problem isn't with ego itself, the problem is "unsupervised" ego: like a 3 year old left to play in a room full of antiques, ego can get in a lot of trouble if we don't continuously keep an eye on it and restrain it when it gets out of hand. - Ego is ULTIMATELY always "false": all ideas about ourselves are wrong, in that they're bounded representations of something which is fundamentally unbounded and unrepresentable. To see this clearly is to become reconnected with true self. However, that "seeing clearly" isn't really sustainable for us, we have to work at it. And nobody I know has mastered this (and most people aren't even working on it). But the fact that ego is ultimately "false" doesn't mean it is non-existent or doesn't need to be managed -- that's the practical answer to the question "what to do about it?": be aware, keep it restrained, don't pretend it doesn't exist, don't let it run the whole show, and know that ultimately it's not the answer to "who am I?".

I would have to say around a 5, I am pretty even keeled.

It varies depending on the situation.

When I was young - 10, now - 5. The older I get the lower it goes. I've learned that a big ego can get you in all sorts of trouble....sigh...

If by ego you mean concentrating on myself and my own needs and wishes, when I'm alone it's a 10. When I'm with others I recognize that they are equally as important, so that's a 5.

I have no ego, as such things are for the slow of brain. Those of us of a higher plain of existence look upon you puny mortals with amusement... ... when we get bored we like to manipulate your world, start the odd war, give you an alien from the planet D'oh to make president, whatever makes us chuckle

I really don't have any idea. I like to think I don't have any ego but I don't think that's true. I have a pride issue so I must have some ego even if it's not a big one. If I had to say a specific number then I say 5. Not a lot but not nothing either.

10 is not big enough.... (They don't make numbers high enough for my ego!)

Eleven! My ego just applied for statehood. If granted it would become our 51st State, and 4th largest!

about 29 but i am not impressed when i look at myself in the mirror....when that happens, i reckon about 700........lol im jus kiddin though i do think highly of my self - my friends say im vain and think more of myself than anybody in the world...so sticking to your scale, ten.but i am not one of those d***s who likes to show off and be obnoxious to everyone!!im a nice guy :)

Big enough. Maybe a 6 or a 7. I'm confident without being an ass about the whole thing. People don't trip over my ego when they walk across the room.

The ego is merely the imaginative invention of a cocaine driven madman who wrote a theory on the human psyche. I think that since Freud wasn't right about much, there is no reason to use his inventions as a part of your reality.

Not big at all. I am usually confident, but not over confident. But egotistical..I'm not.

When I know the facts, it's pretty high. If it's based on opinion, I listen. No one has told me that I have a high ego. I like to listen to what someone says and take it in. I know I'm not always right. The best way for me to learn is listen. :o)

It's pretty big, but it stays in check. I can set it aside when I need to.
