Why does the hp 7660 print the top half the photo in color and bottom half in monochrome

Try resetting the printer... unplug the power cord > then hold down the # key and the 6 together > plug power back in Keep holding keys for about 30 seconds then release... But its a new one for me so I really have to say it sounds like bad memory or a controller board
