Honda Prelude SI. They are freakin great on gas, you can put money into it if you want, but they are pretty quick stock and parts are pretty easy to find for them. They are sporty and it's pretty easy to find a 5 speed or an automatic.

Toyota Supra, Toyota Celica, Toyota MR-2, Acura Integra/RSX, Honda Prelude, Honda S2000 (might be able to find a cheap one), Mazda Miata/MX-5, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Dodge Stealth. Those are a couple that pop into my head.

Yeah the mr2 is the closest thing you will get to a ferrari 355. If you go for the 90s model. . The supras arnt cheap enough. The mitsubishi 3000gt is problematic in the gear box and expensive to fix. . The nissan fairlady/300zx is great especially if you can find a manual twin turbo. . Dont ger a skyline cos theyare just boring before the r34. . Dont touch a celica cos they arnt even rear wheel drive unless you get the gt4. . Stay away from subaru cos they die at low kms. . You know what man? . Just get an MR2 turbo manual with targa tops. But not a red one cos the paint is bad and chips off. . Get some 255 tyres on the back and 225 on the front by spacing them out a bit. . This car I have is economic and every bit the cheap ferrari. It has so much feeling in the drive that you really can feel the difference between driving on the painted lines or the road. Its not just a figure of speech. . They are extreamly reliable, they are a direct decendant of the 4k engines that went into the startlets back in the day and they were known as "the unbreakable engine" . I have one wth a pearl paint job and when I see it in the parking lot lined up with the other, it is a completly different machine. The nose is LOW and the engine is behind your head and thats how it gets its driving feel. the center of mass that is the pivot point is toward the back. This enables a change in direction very quickly and with no effort and a lot of stability. . Other cars that have this config include, bugatti, lambo, konniggsegg, formula 1, arial atom you name it. . Yep definitly look a this as an option. . But in a head on collision, your gonna die.

You might get into a Mini Cooper S for that price. Cool, fast, and reliable for sure.
