You have to focus on the negative aspects of the potential relationship. Remind yourself why it wouldn't work. Make a list of the person's negative traits and review it whenever you begin to fall for him/her again. If the person lacks any traits that you'd like for your ideal partner to have, think about these good traits and how important they are in a relationship. Even if you think you'll never find someone better than this person, you will. Unless you are living in a cave, there will almost always be another potential love interest on the horizon for you. Even if there isn't one at this time, you have to focus on the good things that are already in your life so you won't feel the need to be with your unsuitable crush.

Find something else to occupy your time and let time do it's thing :) +5

Find someone else....

I distance myself emotionally and treat them nice but with a professional distance. I let no hint of how I feel through to the situation at hand. Slowly it becomes a ghost.

Use the energy on just the friendship and as hard as it may sound, thry seeing the friend a bit less for a while. Just for your crush to 'cool down'. Good luck. +

You never do SuzieQ. I've had a crush on Humphey Bogart since I was 3 years old. I'm now 72. Of course he is also currently dead. Doesn't matter. He is still my crush after all these years! I also have a crush on Yoda but we know that can never be either! I sure know how to pick 'em, don't I? Happy Thursday! :)

Thats the best way to get over the crush in fact: it never will be and it never should be. If it should have been, you'd be feeling a lot worse I think when you can't have it. But now, you know better, and best thing is just to stop focusing on it and focus on the things in life you do enjoy.
