No but both are related. It was a Punic name and to this day many Spanish and Hispanic men are named Hannibal (or Anibal.) Hannibal means Grace of Baal, and cannibal means Priest of Baal. The Cartaginians are the descendants of the human sacrificing Canaanites that had trade colonies in N Africa and they carried there lovely child sacrificing human eating ways with them. +5
