Help answer this question below.
You have too many fish in the tank. You should only have two to three fancy goldfish in a tank that size. The shunbunkin will get huge, like 12 inches huge. Also, if the two "other" goldfish are common or comet goldfish, they will grow to be 12 inches. They might live a year or so in the tank but eventually their "waste" will suffocate them. You should really keep the same types of goldfish together. Fancy goldfish, like your oranda, move slower than your minnows and shunbunkin. They will eventually eat the food faster than your fancy can get to it.
He is picking on the oranda probable because he is the weakest one in the tank.
Figure out what fish you want to keep and do a 20% water change once a week.
If you want a tank with a bunch of fish, I would suggest mollies, neons, etc... Not goldfish.
Hope that helps!

The sides of the mouth on my 2yo Oranda are collapsing. They are so narrow squished peas barely get in. Should I try to open it wider?

You're reading Why is my Shunbunkin goldfish attacking my Oranda goldfish. They are in a newly set-up 30 litre tank and I followed the advice given when setting it up. There are two other goldfish and a few rock mountain minnows with them.
