The last loser I dated, which was actually around April of 2001, was a good-looking dude from a small town near Ft. Worth, Texas whom I met on an internet dating service. He turned out to be controlling and serious (in demeanor) when I went there to visit/meet him - yes, I took a "jaunt" to Tx. and took a chance at the same time!!! He was a trucker who worked nights for a large motor freight company, and I had a chance to go on a nighttime truck run w/ him, over the border of Arkansas. It was quite a experience - but I must say, it was a calmer ride in the big rig than the "wild ride" I had getting to know him and seeing if anything could/would, or couldn't/wouldn't, work out. It was the latter - too bad, but better I found out before getting too involved, than after!! Although very handsome, and physically affectionate at least in the early part of my visit, he turned out to be/act very self-centered and domineering - he mostly controlled all the conversations, and he seemed uninterested in most anything I had to say, as compared to the phone conversations where he had seemed very interested. I didn't even have a say in where we went to eat - he picked the places - it was like, "Why am I here?" His phone demeanor was probably just an act, to lure me in - but even though I kind of fell "hook, line and sinker," my common sense won out, and I didn't really regret the whole experience. The most memorable thing was getting to go to Dallas and seeing the (in)famous street where the motorcade was driving in which JFK was assassinated just about exactly 46 years ago (I was 8 years old and in 3rd grade, and remember my mother crying when I got home from school). I will always remember seeing that memorable site, and glad to be able to say I saw it - at least I took that home with me! (P.S. It was that fall that I met my now 2nd husband, also on an internet site - who, while intense, is luckily nothing like the above!)

I'd rather not think of my ex-boyfriends as losers. I met my last ex at school through mutual friends.
