How do you react when you see that your s/o has written a check for a 1.00$?

must be bad at math if you think one check is worth a buck of paper and ink!

whats an eftpos? debit?

in NZ we use a card that is like a cash card, its called eftpos transactions, it can be your normal bank account, that your wages go into, and you use the card for everything, from a can of coke, to maybe a tv.............. so I guess its a debit card, you cant use it for credit, you merely pay cash, but using the card. They do charge you a transaction fee every time you use it of course, but if you have good banking history, you usually get the bank to void the fees. It means literally, very few of us carry cash around, its a great system, I believe we are the biggest users of it in the world.:) Thre isnt a business in NZ that doesn't have an eftpos terminal, its the same system that you run the viza cards through, oh, and here in NZ, we use pin numbers for our viza cards, not signatures,( well, not often !)

very nice! I love my Debit card, kind of the same concept.....I can't believe you have transaction fees to use your own money but thats everywhere I guess...

yes, thats how those big conglomerates make their money........... it can be as much as 5 to 25 cents per transaction, but on average, I guess most people use their eftpos about 200 times a month............ as I say, if you have a good relationship with the bank, they will reduce the charge.
