Appended: Ring of Power is also a depressing film. It is also about how a powerful minority thinks it has the god given right to exploit the less powerful majority.
Any recent Clint Eastwood film.
There will be blood. It was a great film........just depressing.
I am drawing a blank at the moment, and the only thing that comes to mind is The Thin Red Line. However, I will think about it, as I know there are even more depressing films. TTRL is a great film, just depressing.
I'd have to say "Requiem For a Dream" and "House of Sand and Fog" are right up there.
Pink Floyds-- The Wall... Actually its depressing but its a awesome movie I totally recommend that u all should watch it :)
Grave of the Fireflies
AI: Artificial Intelligence.

Is that the one which demonstrates the barbaric omnivore way?
by Tveg on November 23rd, 2009
Yes, it is very graphic. It is an excellent movie for challenging the flesh-eating lifestyle from an animal rights perspective (although the other perspectives are also worthy of consideration).
...
The first part of the film is about companion animal abuse in puppy mills and pounds to address the overpopulation issue. The scope of the movie was originally intended to end there. However, they continued gathering footage of livestock animals and even the gathering of dolphin meat in Japan. If they showed 30 seconds of footage from this movie after every meat commercial, meat sales would plummet

They would never allow it to be shown, but it would be great! Did you know the NRA not long ago spent a good deal of money fighting licensing and inspections of smaller puppy mills?
by Tveg on November 23rd, 2009
I did not know that. Why would the NRA have an interest in that? I thought that their thing was hunting.
---
The mindset of the hunter baffles me. They seem to have an appreciation for the animals in their natural habitat. Yet, their esteem for the animal is perversely distorted when they kill the animals for stuffed trophies. I speculate this is due to a deficiency in their understanding that the animals' consciousness and the manifestation of that consciousness through their behavior is the most beautiful aspect of them. I prefer to shoot animals with cameras as to not disturb the most charming and mysterious attributes of them.

The NRA says it is in defense of the Second Amendment. Part of it was a bill that would have increased dog-license fees and required county dog shelters to keep dogs with microchips for a longer period so the owner might be found. A quote from Senator Cates who supported the bill: Sen. Cates told the Columbus Dispatch: “The NRA got brought in by the breeders and their lobbyists.
I would also think the NRA sees PETA and HSUS as enemies.
by Tveg on November 23rd, 2009
Indeed, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of thing. Application of the second amendment to this matter is a stretch even for the NRA. I guess too many representatives wanted to avoid a cut in campaign funds

It's all about money. Who cares about the animals.
