Thank you very much. I am just freaking out because I had no intention to steal anything but I had to admit with them that it was me the one puting the sticker on the item, so this was making me automatically resposible. It was for $5 dollars difference. I still cant believe it ended up like that havig to go to the office and accused of shoplifting.
So, you think that if they were intended to send me a civil demand they would have told me so?
I am sorry, it is just that I am freaking out because I would never have thought I would be in this kind of trouble and I am ashamed to tell anybody I know.

Did the piece of paper you signed say they agreed to not press charges?
Not on that charge. They did that so if you happen to be back in the store and are caught again they would have proof that this not the first time.
Why do you continue to refuse to steal?

Can you be arrested if you shoplift from the store and leave without being caught BUT you are on camera stealing? What happens?

You're reading I ended up accused from shoplifting in a Whole Foods store in Ill for putting a wrong tag on a piece of cheese. NO police involved and I signed a form for not coming back and they took my info. They never mention civil demand but can I still get one?
