Spoke with a good friend that is in possesion of a huge vinyl collection. We both play guitar and he grew up on the Beatles. We are not sure what you mean by "mode". If you mean what effects they use, the common effect would be a fuzz pedal. If I am totally lost, let me know what you mean.

i don't know which of the 7 modes but the scale for sunshine of your love should be pentatonic minor.
