We needn't. But it pays. . Knowledge is used for understanding reality and practicing skills. These are used to satisfy our needs better and with less time and effort. Which is especially important, since we have a limited time of life. . Thus knowledge makes our life easier and more pleasurable.

We don't need to seek anything. Seeking knowledge in no way means that we'll find it or even get closer to it. Progression has always been spurred by need not curiosity. +3
