I've walked across the bay at morecombe with a sandpilot or guide. It is a beautiful area of saltmarsh and mudflats, but also very dangerous. It's said to have one of the best sunsets in the world. Here's a link to a page about the sandpilot: http://www.lakestay.co.uk/sandpilot.html and a sunset pic: http://www.morecambe.co.uk/PhotosByYou/stel/DSC_0066.sized.jpg

Yes several times. Once , after a 15 mile overnight backpack hike. My son and I finished up on the main trail, took our packs to the car, and then hiked the shorter 2 mile wetlands trail. This was in Western Pennsylvania near Johnstown.
