  • What do you mean by "the path"? How can you tell the difference between "evolving" and "devolving"? There is no planned path, no way ahead, no next step or higher stage. Evolution continually adjust species to fit better into the environment that they find themselves in at that moment. It has no view of the future, it reacts only to the present. Sometimes those changes may be in a direction that we find more intellectually pleasing, so we think of them as "upward". But that is out prejudice, not anything absolute. A change that we find less pleasing, that we think of as "downward", is just as much evolution as the changes we like.
  • We humans don't like change, and we fear the unknown, so we prefer to stick to what/how we are. But like Im Alec I would not evaluate it - it is as it is, and in any case we don't know the consequences, what it will lead to - whether we, personally, like it at the moment or not. Apart from that, we can only do our very best, ourselves and every one of us. Good question! Have a Happy Sunday Rosie! ((hugs))
  • Everything is evolving, some slower than others, but it's such a slow process, who can tell, biological changes take hundreds if not thousands to be correctly labeled,it was millions of years for the dinosaurs to evolve from one type to another,,man hasn't been under the microscope for anything to really be scene as that type of change,,not modern man anyway. If you look at the progress achieved in the last 50-60 years,we can see great changes, just not the type you think??
  • If by devolving you mean that we are getting less intelligent, attractive, etc. then we are devolving. Evolution doesn't favor those characteristics that we think are more advanced, only those that reproduce more successfully. Since, in the modern era, smart, good looking people are having fewer children, the genetic stock has gone downhill. This will continue to get worse until the 'superior' people admit they were wrong in supporting family planning and birth control. That might take a while, people are stubborn.
  • The only way the human race will evolve further is by selective breeding. It won't happen. Who decides what the desirable characteristics are? Who enforces the policy, forcing some to reproduce and forbidding others? I wouldn't want the job. +4
