Repair centre is the only way you will guarantee that a diagnosis of the problem is correct. Sounds like it could be a transformer problem, clicking could be some kind of circuit overload protection.
Sad fact is that often these things are not user serviceable, I would suggest you take it to a repair centre. Odds are you will need to purchase an entire module rather that a couple of quid for a duff component like in the old days. ; - (

You're reading I have a Philips 42" model 42pfp5332d/37 when I turn the power on all i get is clicking. and the power light is on constantly and the tv is not responsive to the power button, I unplug and plug back in but still the same whats the problem?
