The only one that comes to mind is the Iraqi war. Which should have been an effort to locate Osama Bin Ladin for the world trade center incident, but was bent to search for weapons of mass destruction. Some say it was for reasons from oil to George Bush SR' failure to accomplish his goals in Iraq when he was in office. We removed a dictator from office, but we are not the worlds Police force.

It depends on what you mean by justified. But by my standards I would argue that the list of justifiable wars would be much shorter.

I'd say the Spanish American War was trumped up. It was driven by expansionist sentiment and launched due to Yellow Journalism on the part of William Randolph Hurst. Sending people to die so you can sell more newspapers is pretty cold. The Iraq war was unjustified and illegal by treaties the US has signed and ratified. Had we committed 400,000 instead of 4,000 troops to the important effort of capturing Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan; look at what would be different. We wouldn't have lost 4,280 American lives in Iraq. Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban would be dead or in prison instead of alive and well in Pakistan threatening to get their hands on that country's nuclear arsenal. And we wouldn't be mired in the longest war in US history in the graveyard of empires, Afghanistan.

Depends on your point of view. They were all justified to many people because they served the interest of the US in defense after being attacked or gaining some political, expanson or financial advantage.
-
They were all justified.

once the behind the scene issues are addressed, i would say the only war the US has fought that was justified was WW1 and 2, the rest were power grabs or fought over money, with exception of the war of 1812, when the US was invaded by the British.

Certainly the 'war' against the indigenous N. American Indian tribes. And attempted genocide. Even giving them blankets infected with small pox as a sign of alleged friendship. Contrary to popular opinion scalping was started by the ‘whites’ they got a bounty paid by the government for each one produced. Later the Indians just copied it.
