Late Autumn (Akibiyori) 1960. I like Ozu films about family and intergenerational conflict. They make me think about life, and are often emotionally moving without being overly sentimental. The themes in his films are always universal and timeless.

Star Trek. I thought it would suck because I couldn't imagine how new actors and a "reinterpretation" of the original tv series would fly. The movie exceeded my expectations, though... (SPOILER ALERT) . . . . . . . . . . . . ... I STILL can't understand why the planet Vulcan had to be destroyed.
