  • Ugh, I think it's ridiculous. I mean, you made a good point. There is a bloody on and off switch for a reason. If you do not like what you see on TV, get rid of your TV and leave the rest of us to decide what we want to watch because we are mature enough to take media as media, and not a pamphlet or FAQ for life.
  • That implies that our choice is either accept it the way it is or turn it off. I watch TV with my 5 year old son and even though the program we are watching is appropriate some of the previews for other shows and the language in them are inappropriate. I don't see why people are willing to accept that vulgar language and adult themes are appropriate for anytime and on any station. Some of it is shocking. I have dwindled down my TV watching considerably because of it.
  • I agree, to an extent. For example, I don't want Sex and the City or Soprano reruns running in the early afternoon, when young children are watching. (Then again, are they any worse than Jerry Springer? I'm not so sure.) I know what you're saying, though. I hate with a passion the vast majority of TV shows, so it's off most of the day, and many nights. I watch far more Netflix movies at night than I do prime time TV.
