You're reading Why are some people finding it necessary to add the days date in brackets at the end of their questions lately? Odd isn't it, since the date it's posted is already included automatically.

Hmm, it was a new question that was posted just seconds after I saw it. I doubt anyone had the time to flag it as a dupe in that space of time. You sure?

Yes .. no one flagged it ... the system automatically does it.
But I have seen some people adding dates just so they're not flagged as a dupe ... but mostly, those dates are automatic

Another just reared it's ugly head so I did an immediate dupe search on it. Nothing even remotely similar came up.

Sometimes, if you type the question into the blue "Search for Answers" box above the question, you'll find the dupe in there .. not sure why by the dupe search box doesn't always work.
