Is there any evidence in the Bible for infant baptism?
I don't understand why it is practiced.

It was made up by Catholic church, intending to prevent the lost of followers, since they were baptized since children (with not chance to oppose). PS.: wrong catogory, this catogory is about the Baptist Church not catholic baptism.

I don't believer that there is evidence in the Bible for infant baptist. I also don't know of any baptists that practice infant baptist (padeobaptism). Of course any one can call themselves baptist and do what they please but the mainstream baptists do not practice infant baptism (this is a baptist distinctive).

I've always wondered why the Catholics baptise babies. The Bible calls for the baptism of those that are "dedicated and aware" of the responsibilities of giving one's self to God. Babies can't make that decision on their own, obviously. It's one of those practices of Catholics that I will never agree with.
