  • I think it depends on both how important it is that I get it right there and then, and whether I even care. Sometimes I speak up, sometimes I don't. I didn't always speak up in class at university if I didn't get something, for example. I didn't want to look like the idiot. I just looked into it a little more in my own time, and worked it out for myself.
  • If it appears to make sense to everyone except you, it might be a case of "the emperor's new clothes". Test them out. Talk gibberish for a day and either (a) you will have great fun watching people trying to wriggle out of their embarassment or (b) you will spend the rest of your days in a canvas coat with no sleeves.
  • I always ask people to explain them selves if I don't get it.
  • It depends on the situation for me. I speak up if I actually care what it is that they're talking about or if it's something important that I actually need to know. Otherwise I just keep my mouth shut and pretty much ignore the conversation.
  • I usually ask questions. Unfortunately in some work situations I do not ask; because some bosses seem unable to explain anything. LOL they seem to expect us to learn to read their mines.
