You just need to get a rhythm going!:) Don't try to go to fast - it is not all about speed. I find leaning further back is better for coordination and smoother movement. Practice makes perfect - have fun!

Why are you comparing hip thrusts to full body movement?

My wife gets on and lies forward. Then I can grab hold of her butt and help in lifting. This also allows me to help on rhythm.
