Hey I live in California, and I've been almost everywhere...Up north here its very cold, mountain tops are covered with snow, and it will rain. The best places to go up north is the Big Sur, the Penicals, and Monterey area. There are lots of fun things to do up there like go to the aquarium, hiking at the pennicals, and camping. Down south its usually about 68-70 degrees. The funnest thing to do down there is to go to the desert because its not blistering hot during the day, and its cool at night...or you can go to san diego or the l.a area...also very fun...HAVE FUN ON UR TRIP! :)
Northern California will have cold weather and snow - like most of the country. Southern Cal can range from highs in the high 50s to mid 70s, and sometimes we have beach weather. Check the long-term forecasts on weather.com a week or so before you have to commit.
