For me, the most memorable was a drive through New England in October. The fall colors were spectacular. I love New England and was able to spend a week visiting a friend in New Port, Rhode Island.
California Coast. LA to San Francisco. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and some great attractions along the way.
Arizona also makes for a great road trip. So many beautiful sights. Grand Canyon, Sedona, Petrified Forest, Painted Desert, Monument Valley.
And if you really have the time, go cross country. No shortage of terrific places to see. Each state in the U.S. has something special to offer.
In Canada, I would highly recommend a drive through the Canadian Rockies. Absolutely breathtaking. I actually started in Seattle, drove up through Vancouver and into the Rockies from there, ending the trip in Calgary. Unforgettable.
I've had a lot of great road trips, but the trip I just took in September to Gettysburg, and then down through several Virginia battlefields was one of the smoothest vacations I've ever gone on.
From my house to BevMo. I never regretted I took the trip.

We were in Palo Duro canyon on 9/11 and the radio caught the news.Its on our video tape.

The best one was a trip from Lucerne Switzerland to Vittel France.It was a great trip,and happened in the beginning of winter.The trip took about a day and I found it interesting that Switzerland was so clean,and once we hit the border of France it was quite dirty.I scenery was fantastic. I guess the theme song would have been Viva La France.
My dream trip would be the Mother Road, Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles. Might do it next spring. But actually a road trip ANYWHERE is a good time for me!
