  • Probably pus, because your toe sounds mildly infected. I have an involuted toe nail that digs into the skin and hurts, it has to be treated in much the same way as an ingrown nail and at some point I'll be having the nail bed cauterized to stop it growing inwards. You need to get it checked over by a doctor or a chiropodist. Consult your pharmacist if you can't get to a doctor. Keep the area clean, even apply some antiseptic cream to the area and maybe a dressing wouldn't go amiss.
  • You have mildly infected ingrown toenail. I'd recommend going to see a podiatrist to get treated. My experience is people who try to treat themselves usually don't get better. If you can't get to the doctor right away, do soaks and neosporin/band-aid until you can.
  • If there is yellow liquid stuff oozing out from the sides of your toe, you have an infection. Sounds like an ingrown toenail to me. See a doctor.
  • You have the famous "ingrown toenail" that everyone talks about. The front part of the nail does not go into the skin - but one or both sides of the nail do. The fluid is "lymph fluid" which is sent by the body to defend against infection. The more color it has, the greater the infection. I don't know of any self-medication - maybe a pharmacist at a drug store might know. Usually people go to a podiatrist (but they are expensive). It usually involves cutting the infected part to drain the infection out.
  • Dip underneath...cut alittle, and rip that shit outta there. That is what I do, it hurts REALLY BAD...and it bleeds, but its outta there. I gotta do it like once every 3 months or so....and the yellow stuff is infection, but once you get that ingrown toenail outta there...pour gads of peroxide on it, everytime you think about it until the infection goes away...just keep your eye on it. Ive never had to see a doc for it, and it happens in both big toes...but its always ok, never really hurts cuz I dont let it reach quite that point, but yeah...sometimes it really gets back in there I gotta get tweezers, fingernail clippers...and a file to pry my skin up...Gross eh?
  • Ok i had the exact same thing. I went to the doctor and she told me exactly what to do. First thing is that, it is an ingrown toe nail. What she said for me to do is to push the side of my toe that was green(yellow for you) out wards, so that the skin gets pulled out from under your toenail. What you also do is soak it for 10min. before bed every night until you see it going away. This worked for me after about 2 days. If you notice that it doesn't clear up after a period of time, consult your doctor and they will have to do surgery to cut your nail. But from what you said, I highly doubt that you will have to get surgery.
