  If You're buying one, You get a half-off.
  If You're buying two, You can get two for
  half-off and therefore paying for one.
  .
  Whereas with two-for-one, You CAN'T buy one.
  Where is the sense in what You are saying?

• I know what they mean, I'm just saying that maybe if i'm buying a shirt, maybe I want half off, since I don't want the same shirt twice... then maybe If i'm buying food at the store, and I'll want two for one, and I can make more food.

• That doesn't make much sense. You can buy two with
  either of these discounts. The only difference
  between these, is that with "2-for-1" You can
  ONLY buy an EVEN amount of the product.
  The price is always the same, You just limit Your
  possibility of buying an ODD amount of the product.

• I know they're the same thing, price-wise. But if it's only half off, the psychology is that I will only buy ONE of them because I am always on such a tight budget.

• I just made it up. :)
  Nazism has a loose connection with forcing someone to do
  something and scarce resources. Therefore You would prefer that
  the circumstances force You to do something, because then You
  wouldn't have to fight Your internal war with Your Nazistic
  oppressor who always wants to force You to buy as little as
  possible. So You go to the store, see "2 for 1" and say to
  Yourself, "Great there's a reduced price, so I have to buy
  some and more so, I can't buy one, so I will have to buy two.
  Hoooray. My internal Nazist won't have arguments to buy only
  one." :)
