  • You make a good point there Beaver Cleaver.
  • As apposed to a "NON" pointed male name such as "Dick" LOL
  • Oh Mensan...what am I going to do with you? You are going to rile Just Plain Barb's friends you know.
  • tom is a male cat that goes around spraying everything. jen is something you drink if spelled gin. the 2 barbs i know are one from ab and my aunt and this is so far from the case that i am sure none of us thought about it and if we did chuckled and moved on. +5
  • Then they would probably know its related to or short for barbara.
  • Barb is usually short for Barbara, Barbie, and all other sorts of names. They're Greek names that mean "foreign" or "strange." If her name happens to be just "Barb" then it's just another name derived from "Barbara" and other variants. I personally don't like the name no matter what it means or is short for.
  • No,but it's better than Bob.
  • LOL, well my grandmother's name is Barb. I could ask her and get her opinion :)
  • They sang Bar, bar, bar, Barbara Ann or ba,ba,ba, barbara Ann not Barb, Barb, Barb, Barbara Ann, It doesn't work does it, not with two syllables. The common diminutive for Barbara is Babs not Barb. Barb is used only occasionally and may be ignored if it offends. Still nice song tho.
  • Mensan .. that's my absolute favorite song .. I have it as my ringtone on my cell phone! You should see the smiles I get when my phone rings!! I never thought about my name being so sharp and pointed ... but it's better than being dull and too blunt!! lol
