  • No. It's traditional and expected. Most people discount quite a bit when hearing a story anyway. +3
  • It's more entertaining that way. : )
  • Embelish as in lie, to add color, to mislead, to deceive? As in most things this too can be a matter of degrees and motive. Can't really say it is always wrong but would guess you have an idea you know when you take it to the extreme. +5
  • I guess you feel your life is not exciting enough as is, I feel sad about that.
  • Not necessarily, if you're trying to make a point, or practicing for a stand-p comic career. The important thing is that you remember the un-embellished truth and not start to believe the "lie."
  • Everybody lies.
  • My friend scott does this. It doesn't matter anymore weather there is truth in his story or not, He embelishes it so much that nobody believes or listens to what he says these days... But the thing is, we have never actually told him, so he persists on doing it! Hopefully your friends are alot nicer than me and mine, because to be honest Scott is now known as just 'The bullshitter' and he just pisses people off...
  • depends, you can embelish a little to make it more appealing/funny etc, just try not to lie too much. fuck, I embelish stories all the time but not to the point that it is no longer true.
  • No, not at all, the Bible was built on it!
  • If it's something funny to entertain them with, no. If it's a serious matter where somebody got hurt or could get hurt, yes.
