Out of the 65 Million who fought World war I, Around 5 million people never returned back home. Added to that around 22 Million were wounded in war in some way or other.That makes the people with a Scratch or more = 27 million.If you go by that figure,38 Million were unscratched and they were people mostly belonging to ground duties,but that's a very rough way to estimate the wounded.There were around a 200,000 who were declared missing and we never know whether they were dead or alive.No body could give you the exact figure,but a rough estimate like i have done.
