  • Apparently yes, althought the mothers voice and others are muffled to some degree.However music I believe will soothe a baby, I know my son loves music as it was a constant during my pregnancy.We couldn't afford much more!
  • Yes. Babies can hear clearly in the womb at 20 weeks. Because of that, and because it is actually quiet in the womb, all you really need is to play music in the room at a reasonable volume from a stereo, there is no need to place speakers or headphones near bump. A lot of experts (although opinion is divided) believe that playing classical music to the baby stimulates the brain in a way that helps intellectual development - the "Mozart Effect". It is also it is supposed to give the baby a feeling of calm =) ... Also, apparantly, if you play a piece music to the baby in the womb from the age of 20 weeks, every day, and then play it to them at the age of one year, they should recognise it! Pretty amazing =)
