The manufacturer provides guidelines for floor cleaning. Follow manufacturer's care instructions or you may void your warranty. In addition, use a damp mop with no cleaner on your laminate floor. If you must use a cleaner to remove a tough stain, use mild, citrus based detergents or a solution of vinegar and water.

    On the Other: Harsh Abrasives

Scouring powders, steel wool and sand paper can break down your laminate flooring and possibly void your warranty. Avoid using these products on laminate flooring. Clean your floor at least once a week to avoid dirt build-up. Remove stains as soon as possible to avoid the stain setting into the floor.

    Bottom Line

Damp mop your laminate floor once or twice a week with no cleaner. If you must remove a stubborn stain, test a small patch of floor in a remote area to make sure the cleaner you use is mild enough not to harm the floor.
