Paying the fine MAY have helped your case, had you paid it on time. I dont understand why people dont pay traffic fines when they know they were in the wrong *puzzled* I didnt mean to sound harsh. I think I read the question wrong .... thought you said you didnt care about paying it, as in you couldnt care less. I see now you meant you dont MIND about paying or appearing in court :) Being your first offence does lie in your favour. Tell the truth and have someone vouch for you - character reference etc. Dont know if you'll get off the suspension tho. My 23 year old nephew got ticketed about a year ago for something he didnt do. Long story short ~ because it takes so long to get a court date, he agreed to do what was requested - pay fine and attend an 8 week(end) course for driving offenders, which was also attended by his parents. They were told it would help his case. It didnt get the result they expected when they went to court. He still got suspended for 6 months and a police record. The course had such an impact on him he wanted to join the police force .. now he cant for 7 years! Good luck

Oh, and by the way, yes, I know that technically I am supposed to get my license suspended. But it's the first time and I -barely- was going enough to qualify as 4 pts from my license. I could probably even argue I was going -just- under that, I was actually going 57 or something, but I guess they wouldn't give a crap about that. Someone I know said that they may reduce it, but idk I just want to know if that's possible at all.
