No, but I remember seeing something like a huge machete on the end of a 7-foot pole on "The Deadliest Warrior". Can't remember for the life of me what it was called, but it was a kickass weapon!

I think the ancient samurai used my friends mother-in-law! She looks and acts the part.

They did have numerous bladed pole arms that came close to the European style of battle axe, but not quite the same. Their main weapons were bow & arrow and several different length swords.

I think they used something similar called a Bisento which looks like an axe on a long pole. I believe it was used for fighting enemies mounted on horseback.

The closest thing I can think of would be a naginata. :/ They also did use these weird huge poles with a slab of metal on the end, kinda like some sorta "thrusting hammer" but I forget the name. I think it was for cavalry, but don't quote me.
