Moonlighting simply means having a second job ... traditionally it would have been at night, but not always.
moonliting means having a second job at night .
A second job, Suby. Usually a part time job after or before your main job...for extra income. I know many people at my workplace who "moonlight". I did myself when I was younger. Couldn't deal with it now, though.
Moonlightling means having a second job, usually one that is started in the evening after you finish your day job.
You could start a fire and do "firelighting".
And what if it's cloudy and you can't see the moon - would you call it darklighting or no-moonlighting?

Moonlighting is a term for a second job. Since most people work at their main occupation during daylight hours, it is assumed that their second job would be at night or in the moonlight. +4
