Unless you can do the work yourself, your Aerostar has more than paid for itself. Take it to a junk yard to be parted out.
A blown head gasket is easy enough to fix and shouldn't be that expensive but be sure that is all it is. I am no doctor but your ford may be experincing a problem that gets more common with age. Premature milky appearance happens to many more than are willing to admit it. Why not try putting some ExtenZe in the radiator and see if that helps? If not, you could always brag about your blown head gasket next time you are downing some suds with your buds.
A headgasket replacement can run upwards of $1500 or more and that's as much or more as you've invested in it initially.
IF the rest of the van is pristine, then a head gasket replacement would probably be cheaper than buying another vehicle though...but I'd probably just junk it and get another one.
What you have there is a 'mechanic's special'. If you can do the work, keep it. Otherwise sell it to someone so they can develop mechanic's experience or just junk it.

You're reading I have a 1992 ford aerostar van with 186,000 miles. I have a little milky appearance in the oil. If I have a blown head gasket. should I pay to change it or junk it. I paid $1500.00 for it 4 years ago.
