Do hackers unjustly have a bad name when I haven't had a virus in years and hacked software has saved me hundreds retooling hardware to have more features rather than sheepingly buying the next models?

    Hackers have an unjustly bad name because computer-illiterate people like the media and the average member of their audience do not know the difference between a hacker and a cracker.

    I don't know. Let me answer your question with another question. Do murderers have a bad name when all they do is remove obstacles to their aim so that they don't have to deal with societies sheepish rules?
