Evidence? Let's try common sense. There were athiests since day one I'm sure. Not ever in the history of mankind were all minds of the same accord.

Socrates did not believe in the Greek gods, although I'm not sure if he ascribed to another kind of spirituality. Historically, atheists may be hard to find because they would have been killed along with other blasphemers. As for evidence, there are references to unbelievers in the Bible (negative ones).

well about every one ever born was an atheist in their first few years. I wouldn't be able to name any specific people who remained atheist after they were able to talk, though.

as long as there has been someone asking you to believe there have been those who do not

great question, I would assume that the atheists would have stayed in the closet as to avoid a most painful death after being foung guitly of heresy.

Good question. I'm sure there would be evidence around someplace - but probably sketchy and rare. I'd think it could be found among the more pantheistic cultures like the Roman or Greek cultures - where beliefs ranged around a lot of gods and so believing in none would not necessarily have brought the same torturous, painful death as in some others.

We're all born atheist, so yeah, atheism is older than any religion.
-
sure theres evidence, it explains the scorch marks found in some arceological digs. don't you know, every time lightning strikes, an atheist finds god.

If there were they were not around for long. Anybody who did not believe was killed......strange to think of ain't it. Such a loving and kind thing to believe in. I guess that explains why so many people believe in that!
-
I believe they were killed instantly. People were not allow to speak against.
