  • Actually all three of those 'Main Religions' that stem from the Middle East have passages that say 'kill the non-believer'. However, all three of those books also teach 'thou shalt not kill' as well. It is interpretation of the text that is at fault. For all three of these religions the concept of killing is 'taboo' even of the 'infidel' to that religion by the mainstream believers. However for all three there are subgroups who take such passages to heart and believe that death is the solution. Kill non-believers: Koran: 4.89 : They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper. Bible/Torah: They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB) Of course you don't hear your Evangelists standing on a pulpit and telling folk to go out and kill non-Christians. And as far as we know there are no sects in Christianity that are actively seeking (today) to make Holy War on the world based on this and similar passages. Sadly there are small organizations that are abusing Islam and twisting its teachings for their own reasons and acting on the Koran's scripture in such a manner. We know them in broad general terms as 'terrorists'. The Three Religions have had a long history of abusing their holy books. Mind the IRA used the bible as 'justification' for much of their terrorism. Christians in the USA used the bible to justify slavery and killing slaves. History is over flowing with many examples of men using their holy books to justify all manner of atrocities in the name of 'God'.
  • Yes. Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don't kill them.) 2:191-2 http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/quran/cruelty/long.html It says so in black and white.
  • No we respect all religions and faiths.
  • I once read in a marquee sign by a mosque that Islam teaches to love everyone, EXCEPT those who are against Islam. Might you see where that kind of thing can lead to misinterpretation?
  • I suggest you read and study the qu'ran for yourself. that's the only way you're really going to know the truth. all you're going to hear on here is hearsay and hearsay can be very dangerous and misleading. if you dont have time to do the research by yourself, you are at the mercy of others opinion.
  • People will have been using religion forever to manipulate and create division. I would search for my own intepretation of the Qu'ran
  • Not at all Islam teaches forgiving and peace no killing only in rare cases!
