Whats your favorite less known fast food place? (in other words excluding mcdonalds, burger king, KFC, ARbys, taco bell, dairy queen ETC.) something not that many people have heard of...And what is your favorite menu item at said restaurant?

In Connecticut, we have 2 small fast food chains: Frankies: (I think they are based in Waterbury) started 60 years ago, features different styles of hot dogs and other normal fast food. I like the Italian hot dogs. Duchess: I like the Baked Ham & Swiss Big Deli sandwich.

There's a place not far from me called "The Hot Dog Shoppe"... you can guess what they specialize in. Their fries are delicious too!

Johnny's Lunch. After more than 70 years as a local landmark, the company has begun franchising. http://www.johnnyslunch.com I always order at least three cheeseburgers with sauce.

Tasty Tacos. It started out as a tiny business and became a local taco empire! The taco shells are soooo delicious, and I usually go for the bean taco. The rest of my family goes for the original. YUM!

Hero Haven, they make the best sandwiches and heros. They slice the lunch meat when you order the sandwich instead of having it sit out for hours.

Popeyes for fried chicken and Long John Silvers for fish and chips.

In and Out Burger, and of course the Double-double there. I also get a feeling for Long John Silvers once in awhile and get the fish and chips there.

My favorite fast food place was Burger n Shake. It was located on the corner of 61st and Queens Blvd. in Woodside, Queens in NY. And my favorite item on the menu was thier Malted. They made the absolute best old time malted I've ever tasted. And I came from Bklyn. where everything was the best.

There's a pizza place in my city that isn't a franchise named Big Johns. My favorite menu item is pepperoni and sausage pizza.
