Not too much, after the UK takes around 90% of it in income taxes.
I think I'd buy a one-way ticket to the USA, respectfully, where the income taxes are not "outrageous."

Lottery tickets seem like a good buy. I'd buy more of them.
Good tidings for all!

Firstly I would see an ex bosses accountant for sound financial advice. Then help out out all the people I know who have been hit by the failing economy and clear friends debts and gift family and people close to me. Those people hit by the worry of retirement, I know many I would secure their pension fund as best I can. Then set up some good walk in centres within my area to improve peoples lives. Once I had done all the above I would visit all the places in the world I would like to go. When I was done with that I would come back and continue work in the community - at the end of the day I need a purpose in life and that would fulfil me. 1 million would change my life no end - why would I need the rest just for me?

When I win I am going to create more appropriate programs for Autistic people. Finance more research.
I'll buy a house in Monaco. And retire. Maybe play a little poker here and there.

Respectively if I won any of the aforementioned above, I would insist that Mensan is my chaperone in LAS VEGAS! As apart from Roulette/Euromillions/National Lottery I am a gambling virgin! +5

Thanks for the reminder, Nice Jugs. In the USA, lottery winnings are taxable income, unfortunately.
.
That's the same situation in Canada, also. Lottery winnings are not taxable there, and I don't believe they are taxable in Australia, either. (I won AU$1,000 there in 1991, on an instant "Scratch & Win" card.)
.
But I would still move to the USA, because the taxes on the income from the investment dividends on the winnings are indeed taxable, and much too high.
.
Thanks for the points, everyone.
