  • it is complicated, as you would have to choose portions of the bible to be true and others to be not-true or symbolic. Once you start that, there's no end. Cause then whenever you reach a part of scripture, perhaps even something Jesus himself said, and it doesn't fit to your ideals, you can simply turn it into a symbolic story. when you as human are chosing what portions of the bible are true or not, then who is actually the God in your beliefs? it is yourself.
  • yes-the bible should not be taken literally-there is nothing in the bible that is anti evolution-infact the order in which the earth was formed in genisis is correct-when days are mentioned in the old testement-7 days to create the world -30 days in the wilderness are not literal days-hope that helps
