I hear stories on the news about people who have suffered immensely tragic circumstances, such as a cancer victim whose house burnt down.
I'd buy someone like that a new house and the best care for their cancer.

Obviously I would want to contribute more to humanity. I would be ten times more generous than even Bill Gates himself. No one needs billions to be able to support themselves, so I would probably donate my money to projects helping build hospitals, schools, give to charities and invest in companies that will employ thousands (thus hopefully reducing the number of unemployed) and try and use my wealth to benefit the economy that way everyone benefits.
Bottom line: I would be VERY generous if I were as rich as old man Gates ;)

Fund a political party and a news network to counter FOX and the corporate-bank-Wall St-military-industrial-complex war-mongering lying hoares that are continuously elected to the oval orifice [no - not a spelling mistake folks!]... for a start ... then give Wikileaks a few billion ... then start a movement to support a new law that when any politician speaks in public they have to be wired to a polygraph / lie detector ... then ... hee hee!
