I felt the exact same way up until I was 19, which also when I got pregnant with my son. It just suddenly went away.

You are feeding this fear everytime you give into it. I would make myself stay in the dark until it no longer affected me. Billions of people find comfort in darkness, you can too. That's how people become adults and say nonsensical things like I am so afraid of snakes! etc. Fear can be healthy when it is justified but for no reason, it develops into a self inflicted phobia. If you don't want to be a prisoner and victim of the dark, fight it. I am speaking as one who was very afraid of the dark when young and I got over it with this practice.

You're reading Im 14 and still afraid of the dark, i dont think of it as a childish thing as the reason i am scared is because whenever i am in the dark i imagine someone is behind me, is there anything i can do?
