  • Is he sleepy or not his usual self? Rush to hospital right now and get him x-rayed. Keep trying to get him to take liquids - a bottle of water if possible. If he stopped crying and went limp or sleepy or sort of not bothered in anything, then there's a big chance he's got concussion. Better to be safe than sorry.
  • you'd be surprised how resilient babies are. their bones are still soft, so they don't break & flex better than an adults do. it is only natural that their body be that way as babies are clumsy & often fall or bump into things. he's most likely fine. if he looks like he's in any pain, just take him to the doctor but he is probably a-okay.
  • Take him to the ER to make sure he is ok.
  • Are you going to just cross your fingers and hope the baby is okay? Take him for a checkup today.
  • Take him to the hospital so that you'll know his condition.
  • Cant figure out how to edit my posting however to answer one on the questions he is not overly tired in fact its been close to 2 hours and he's in his crib making cooking noise's he's very alert not hard to wake up no bumps or anything abnormal.
  • I'm an RN and would like to commend you for asking your question-- it isn't easy to admit something like that. I would definitely have the baby seen by a doctor. You're going to come up against this sort of thing numerous times in the future, so think of it this way: if it's nothing and you take him in to be seen, you get reassured. If it's something and you don't take him in, what are the complications? In the meantime, look for a decrease in level of consciousness, unusual behaviour (basically a drastic change in how he usually presents himself), crankiness, etc. Monitor the spot where he fell -- look for bruising, bumps, etc. Look at his eyes. Check to make sure his eyes are both reactive -- bring your face up close to his so he can see you and slowly move back and forth see if he follows you with his eyes (pretty young for this though) but also check his eyes for any discolouration whichcan indicate a head injury.
  • Whether or not he is overtly displaying any obvious symptoms, you must take him to see a doctor. Chances are he's fine, but head injuries can be tricky and there can be a delay between the incident and the onset of symptoms. Nobody will judge you for this. This sort of thing happens all the time and is largely just one of those things! So please don't worry about what people think because anyone who knows kids knows just how easy this sort of thing is. But you really should get him checked over. Don't beat yourself up over it! But definitely better to be safe than sorry.
  • There is no brusing or anything noticable he's acting fine was up for an hour or so after it and alert looking around no redness in the eyes when it happend and he stoped crying I think he was taking it in because he just stared at me and then closed his eyes but again I changed his diaper he got pissed gave him a bottle he took an ounce layed him in the crib and he cooed for a bit and is now asleep. It I touch him as always he moves aroud and makes a noise as if telling me to leave him alone which is normal for him.
