Yes once you realize that when someone who doesn't share your beliefs it is because they still need to learn something or vice versa. It's what you're supposed to do when raising your kids. Some call it respect.

The key to success here is not to have any beliefs that require other people to share your beliefs or to force your beliefs upon them. Let's take abortion as an example: It is perfectly OK to be against abortion. The trouble starts only when you choose to enforce your belief in a way that prevents others from following their own beliefs about abortion. Take away the need to impose your will upon others and you're fine. This allows you to have very strict ideas about abortion while having tolerance for others who do not share your ideas.
