    Great Answer

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

On One Hand: Go Big, or Go Home

Cost will depend on chassis size, body type and how high you want to lift your truck. Most kits range between $400 for a basic suspension kit to $1,600 for a 4-inch, coilover lift. That's not including labor, which can cost between $200 to $500 for installation.

On the Other: Know What You're Doing

There 'are different sites online that sell discounted lift kits, but be careful lifting your truck on your own. A bad lift job will affect the way your truck drives, handles and functions. Even a basic three-inch lift will require you to extend transmission linkages, wires, brake lines and other parts. Most truck enthusiasts can easily spot a poorly-installed lift kit.

    Bottom Line

If you're going to lift your truck, do your research and pay the money to have the lift kit properly installed. It will be well worth it in the long run.
