    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Standard 1997 Chevy passenger trucks came with 16- by 7-inch wheels, meaning the wheel was 16 inches in diameter and the rim the tire sat on was 7 inches wide. Chevy's 1/2- ton and 3/4-ton models made in 1997 came with 16- by 6 1/2-inch wheels, and the one-ton truck came with 16- by 8-inch wheels.
